RP joins Toronto film mart
MANILA, Philippines - The International Film Festival Committee (Iffcom), the agency that provides funding for movie producers invited to international film festivals, has been requested to attend the second Toronto film market in September, according to Iffcom chair Christine Dayrit.
The film market is a venue for producers to sell their films and interact with international buyers and film experts.
Dayrit, also vice chair of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), said the invitation came from Cameron Bailey, programmer of the Toronto International Film Festival.
Impressed
"I think Bailey invited us after watching 'Foster Child,' which he liked very much," Dayrit told Inquirer Entertainment. The Canadian expert was in Manila last week to shop for films that could be exhibited in TIFF, one of the biggest in the world.
