'Sa Ilalim ng Cogon' Robinsons Galleria Screening
SA ILALIM NG COGON
The film was hailed by internationally renowned film critic Olaf
Moller as a "masterpiece." The bible of film publications, Film
Comment Magazine, lauded the movie as "truly poetic." Firecracker
Magazine of London branded the feature as "memorably uncategorizable"
and championed the film as a groundbreaking work that stretched the
limits and notions of the genre movie. Now, SA ILALIM NG COGON,
fresh off its triumphant tour-of-duty in a slew of international film
festivals, finally hits our shores.
"SA ILALIM NG COGON" is a mystery-horror-thriller that tells the
story of a former soldier named Sam (YUL SERVO) who, in search of his
missing former wife, gets embroiled in a violent heist that climaxes
in a deadly double-cross. Seeking refuge, he finds himself hiding
inside a creepy, run-down mansion. Despairing at his predicament and
the mansion's eerie solitude, Sam discovers the young, sexy Katia
(JULIA CLARETE), swimming naked inside the filthy, murky waters of
the mansion's abandoned pool. Following her trail, he confronts her,
and then begins a passionate and torrid affair with this mysterious
and enigmatic girl. Unbeknownst to Sam, he has unwittingly taken the
first, dangerous step to unlocking the mansion's deep mystery and its
former inhabitants' dark and disturbing secrets.
