Last month, June 17, 2007, I, together with seven other students, graduated from Armando 'Bing' Lao's Advanced Scriptwriting Class held by the University of the Philippines Film Institute (UPFI). For six weeks starting, April 28, every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 6pm, we sweated it out, learning Bing's new methods and writing and submitting exercises in the hope that these lessons would make us better scriptwriters.

Film making exercise in Bolivia as part of a UNESCO project

UNESCO, in partnership with the Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT) of India, has just released a training module entitled "How to write a documentary script", an easy-to-use self-training tool providing basic knowledge for potential content creators.

The tool, prepared by Trisha Das, analyses the two stages of documentary scriptwriting, the pre-shoot or shooting script and the post-shoot script, providing basic knowldege and useful advice for those being initiated in documentary making.

I'm a Fil-Am filmmaker based in Los Angeles and currently seeking
stories/ completeled screenplays (short and features) that would
bring me back to the Philippines.

Also, I have some concept brewing in mind and I'm also willing to
work with a screenwriter that's either based in the Philippines
that's preferably also versed in Western culture, or a Fil-Am
screenwriter that's versed about the culture in the Philippines. I
would like to partner up with this writer to come up with an
eventual screenplay.
