UP Film Institute screens Tulad ng Dati

Get another chance to watch Mike Sandejas’ “Tulad ng Dati.” UP Film Institute screens the much acclaimed directorial debut from Sandejas as the main feature film for its Friday Film Bar this 5 October 2007.

“Tulad ng Dati” follows the imaginary exploits of the rock band The Dawn as its lead vocalist—losing his passion for music and life—entertains thoughts of retiring. “Tulad Ng Dati” is the Best Picture Winner at the 2006 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. It went on to be the first Filipino film to compete in Pusan. It won Best Sound at the recent Urian Awards on top of a nomination for Best Music as well acting nods for Jett Pangan, Ping Medina and Agot Isidro. “Tulad Ng Dati” was also exhibited late last year in Hawaii. Other Cinemalaya prizes it garnered are for Best Editing and Best Sound.

Friday Film Bar is held at the UP Film Institute Ishmael Bernal Gallery (Ground Floor, Osmeña Avenue Entrance). Show starts at 6:30 p.m. For this week, featured performer is The Dawn and the featured short film is “One-Man Show” by Dohna T. Sarmiento and Glenn M. Ituriaga.
