UP Films Institute holds expanded run for KUBRADOR

As highlight of its forthcoming semester break special, the UP Film Institute
holds the expanded run for what could be the best Filipino film of the year.

Jeffrey Jeturian’s Kubrador produced by MLR Films and starring Gina Pareño
will have multiple screenings from October 23 Monday to October 27 Friday
at 2, 5 and 7 p.m. for the pure convenience of all audiences who may want
to catch the landmark film either for first-time or repeat viewing.
Admission is at popular price.

Kubrador continues to garner accolades across the globe since its winning
streak in Moscow where it had its world premiere last June followed by
more prizes it bagged in New Delhi. It has also screened to date in Toronto
for its North American premiere, Antalya for its Turkish premiere and Vancouver in Canada.

Its next round of festival participation includes Mumbai for its
Bollywood premiere, Pusan for its East Asian premiere, London for its UK
premiere, Tokyo for its Japanese premiere and São Paulo for its Latin American premiere.

For its US premiere in Hawaii, it vies for the top prize. It is similarly in main
competition for its Iberian premiere in Valladolid and its French premiere
in Amiens. Further European engagement follows with Brussels, Thessaloniki
and Rome all in November before proceeding to Dubai for its Middle East
premiere in December. It is once again main competition entry for its
international Southeast Asian premiere in Bangkok come January 2007
when the must-see film shall have made it to at least 20 major international filmfests
for a truly unprecedented feat.
